What are some of the symptoms of a sick pigeon?

People are always on the lookout for sick animals; the classic movie, To Kill A Mockingbird put a healthy fear in everyone about animals that are acting oddly in public. That being said, birds are a different story pertaining to illness. In some mammals, signs of illness manifest in ways like instability, excessive salivating, bold behavior, etc. Birds are far more sensitive creatures. If they get sick, they usually don't live long enough to showcase many symptoms. What's more, a sick bird is also fast prey for many other animals; so again, the chances of seeing a sick bird are minimal. An unhealthy bird, however, will likely show odd behaviors, have unkempt feathers, or may show a disinterest in food. These signs may be particularly difficult to identify in feral birds, like pigeons.
